Case in Point — Oracle/Liberate
Building an 11$ billion brand. Oracle engaged us to spin out Network Computer as Liberate—a maker of software for smartphones, interactive television, and Internet-connected devices. Working in close collaboration with the VP of marketing, we helped to create the Liberate brand from the ground up—from developing the corporate tagline to collaborating on the design of the logo to creating the company’s marketing materials. We even wrote and creative directed the promotional materials for the company’s IPO prospectus, and scripted PowerPoint presentations for financial road shows.
This three-year engagement spanned all aspects of marketing and brand strategy —
- Developed the corporate website and wrote all the content
- Created corporate and product advertising
- Developed co-marketing, joint advertising and white papers with partners such as Cisco, AOL Time-Warner, SeaChange and Motorola
- Localized marketing literature across all major European and Asian languages.
- Supported the launch of a developers program for interactive applications
- Scripted the CEO’s keynotes
- Collaborated with CNN and other broadcast TV content providers to create demos of interactive television
- Wrote white papers on topics such as DVR
- Created and wrote annual reports
At US$ 11 billion, the Liberate IPO was the largest of the year and one of the most successful in Silicon Valley history. (Liberate was acquired by Comcast.)
